The Battersea Enamel Collection

'Claret' enamel decanter labelThe Battersea Enamel Collection was created in association with Halcyon Days and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The labels are produced and hand-painted in Bilston, England and come with a silver-gilt chain and hook to fit any decanter or claret jug.

Each label comes in a satin-lined presentation box.

Originals of these labels, engraved by Simon Francois Ravenet, were produced for only 3 years between 1753 and 1756 at the Battersea Enamel factory in York House, London. As the factory existed for such a short time, few examples survive today, and on the rare occassion when one appears at auction, it sells for thousands of pounds. Examples are on show in the V&A Museum in London.
